Episode 15: The Howling (1981)

For Halloween, we're going to take a bite out of The Howling, and we'll be joined by a special guest from the cast, James Murtaugh. Directed by Joe Dante from a screamplay, sorry, I mean a screenplay by John Sayles, with makeup effects by a brilliant team including the amazing Rob Bottin (The Thing) and Rick Baker (Planet of the Apes). With a cast that includes Dee Wallace, Patrick Macnee, Kevin McCarthy, John Carradine, Slim Pickens, and Robert Picardo. With special guest from the cast, James Murtaugh.

Episode 33: Murder, My Sweet (1944)

In which we discuss Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe. We were going to do it by looking at 1975's Farewell, My Lovely, but changed horses midstream and decided to look at 1944's Murder, My Sweet instead. It's based on the same book, but a much better ride.

Episode 14: The Magic Christian (1969)

If you want it, here it is, come and get it: We'll be talking about 1969's The Magic Christian. If you've never seen this hilarious comedy you'll want to catch it before the show. It stars Peter Sellers and Ringo Starr, along with John Cleese, Richard Attenborough, Raquel Welch, Christopher Lee, Roman Polanski, Spike Milligan, Wilfrid Hyde-White, and Lawrence Harvey.

Episode 13: Harper (1966)

Anybody out there like detective movies? I know we do. Join us to talk about Paul Newman as Lew Harper, (Lew Archer in Ross Macdonald's series of novels). William Goldman's wonderful screen adaptation of Macdonald's The Moving Target also stars Lauren Bacall, Julie Harris, Robert Wagner, Shelley Winters, and Arthur Hill. Directed by Jack Smight, who also helmed some great episodes of The Twilight Zone.

Episode 12: The Little Drummer Girl (1984)

Take a nostalgic bittersweet stroll down memory lane to a wistful time when international terrorism and war in the Middle East were high on our list of worries. Diane Keaton leads an all-star international cast in this adaptation of the John le Carre spy thriller about an actress recruited by the Mossad to flush out a bomber.

Episode 32: Woman on the Run (1950)

Continuing our string of noir, we discuss Woman on the Run, which by all accounts seems to be about a man on the run. Go figure. But it's also supposed to be great.

Episode 31: Kiss Me Deadly (1955)

In which we get into a heated debate as to whether Mike Hammer is a good guy or not. Regardless, this movie is a must-see, if you can find it. Ralph Meeker is Mike Hammer, one of the hardest-boiled detectives you'll ever meet. Think a 23-minute egg and you'll get the idea. Also featuring the late and very great Cloris Leachman and directed by Robert Aldrich, whose hits include What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte, The Flight of the Phoenix, The Dirty Dozen, and The Longest Yard.

Episode 30: The Hitch-Hiker (1953)

A couple of buddies. A fishing trip to Mexico. A hitch-hiker. What could possibly go wrong? Our exploration of noir jumps back in time to 1953 for this thriller directed by the amazing Ida Lupino.

Episode 11: Carlito's Way (1993)

It ain't Two Brothers no more. The two babies got it started, but from here on out it's the three of us. In this episode, we are joined by our big brother Adam, and henceforth it shall be (except from time-to-time when one or another of us is working). We could not be more excited! Join us for our first night out in the new format, as we talk about an epic Brian DePalma crime drama, starring Al Pacino, Penelope Ann Miller, an almost unrecognizable Sean Penn, and a list of recognizable names and faces that goes on and on.
